How we give advice in Merton
Our aim is to guide you in the right direction, give you information to solve your own enquiry and, where necessary, assist you in solving your problem.
We take you through a simple journey when you contact us. First we see if there’s any information we have that can help you. Want to report repairs to your landlord? We have a sample letter for that. Want to complain about a dodgy TV you bought? We’ve got a sample letter for that too.
If your situation is more complicated, we take you through an assessment. This is a quick interview we can do on the phone, face-to-face in a drop-in session or via email. See below for the different ways to contact us and the opening hours for each of these.
If you need some expert help with your problem, then our assessors can book you an appointment with a trained advisers. We also have a specialist debt adviser.
We run a specialist disability service for Merton residents where we can assist with filling out DLA, PIP and ESA forms and advise on challenging benefit decisions that you disagree with. Please phone (number below) and ask for an appointment.

Call 0344 243 8430 between 10.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday. This is charged at your normal rate for calling an 01 or 02 numbers and will be included within any inclusive minutes in a mobile contract. If it’s more convenient, you can call us from the phones at any of our locations, see below.

We have drop in sessions from 10.00am-2.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday where you can have an initial assessment. You don’t need an appointment to attend one of these.
All week, Monday to Friday, you can access our information on our computers (our Advice Guides can help you), use our phones to try to resolve your problem or contact us for an initial phone assessment.
